God always wants to be first in our lives.    Jesus even tells us to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matt 6:33  As Christians, we've heard this verse many times, and probably can even quote it from memory.   We KNOW what God expects of us, we KNOW what our attitude and actions should be, but knowing and putting it into practice can be difficult at times.  How can we show our friends, neighbors, and co-workers that God is the center of our lives?   As you go about your week, consider a few ideas:

 

 Be joyful!   Being joyful does not mean that we are constantly happy.    There will be struggles in this life along with heartache, tears, and sadness.    Even in our trials, we are to be joyful (James 1:2,3).  Why?   Because we have the Gospel, the Good news, the Promise of eternity with Him if we are faithful (Rom 1:16,17; John 14:1-4).   Don't be that Christian that others avoid because you are negative and pessimistic, and have an attitude of doom and gloom.   

 

Be a godly example.   Social media can be a wonderful tool to help spread the gospel, but it can also cause a stumbling block for others if we aren't careful.   The language we use, the photos we post, the topics we discuss (our attitudes we display in those discussions), others posts and pages we "like," etc.  It's all a public display for others to  see and judge, and additionally, says something about who we are and what we think.    The devil still seeks whom he may devour, and we need to be sober and alert (I Pet 5:8).......even on social media.   

 

 

Love others.   I've heard it said that there isn't a person that we meet that God doesn't love.   Sometimes we've already cast judgment on who will and who won't accept the gospel.  We must see our neighbors and strangers as lost souls and potential brethren.  Someone saw us as lost once, and took the time to share the gospel so our souls could be saved.    Jesus loved us first (I Jn 4), and came to bring us the good news.  It is our responsibility to do the same for others.   (Matt 28:18-20)  

 

We've all had times in our lives where Christ wasn't seen in our attitude, example, or love for others. Thanks to the blood of our Lord and Savior, we have grace and forgiveness, and can resolve to be better this week than last.
